Tuesday, June 3rd, saw 6 handicapper Enda Finan from Aughrim, score not one but two holes in one; a feat unparalleled in Woodenbrige Golf Club's 125 year history.

Playing the short eighth over water, Enda's 3/4 wedge flew over the flag before spinning back into the hole, much to the delight of his playing partners. About half an hour later, playing the 194 yard 11th, and one of the course's hardest holes, Enda aced again, this time with a four iron to a back flag. His shot took one bounce before settling down and diving in!

Both aces were witnessed by playing partner, Gary Coyne and whilst not in competition, this achievement must rank as a very rare feat indeed.

The estimated odds of acing a hole with any given swing are one in 33,000. A study by Golf Digest in 2000 said that the odds of getting two holes-in-one in the same round are 67 million to one.
