Thursday 17th July

 I awoke to be greeted by overcast skies but no rain – what a relief. I arrived at the Club bright and early to start what was to be a wonderful day. The cards and good wishes I received were overwhelming.

Everybody arrived smiling and in good spirits, a day’s golf without rain was on the cards. We didn’t quite manage a day without rain but the sprinkling that fell was of no consequence, it was a good golfing day. Finally everyone had played and the scores were counted.

I would like to congratulate all the prize winners, there were some fantastic scores and I was delighted to see four members of my hard working committee feature among the prizes, especially the winner Lesley. I would like to thank each and every one of you for my making my day so special. Many photos were taken on the day and they can be viewed in slideshow form if you click on this link.

The evening was an added bonus and thank you for remaining late and joining in my birthday celebrations. I will have words with the member of committee who sent the text message but its one birthday I’ll never forget! I hope you all enjoyed the day and evening as much as I did and thank you all for making it such a memorable occasion.
